Frequently Asked Questions About Outdoor Concrete Games

GENERAL OUTDOOR CONCRETE GAMES

What is the lifespan of outdoor concrete games?

Our concrete games are designed with a target lifespan of 100 years. While we formally guarantee our concrete games for 10 years, reinforced concrete is measured in generations, not seasons. These games are built as permanent site furnishings intended to remain usable for decades.

Do concrete games last outdoors in real weather?

Yes. Concrete performs exceptionally well outdoors and is commonly used for sidewalks, curbs, bridges, and plazas. Our games are designed to live outside year-round and perform well in rain, snow, sun, heat, and freeze-thaw cycles.

What kind of reinforcement is used in your concrete games?

Our concrete games are heavily reinforced using steel reinforcement, two-part fiber reinforcement, and high-strength concrete rated at 5,000+ PSI. This combination provides long-term durability and crack resistance well beyond typical precast concrete products.

Do concrete games perform well in cold climates?

Yes. We have installations in Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Anchorage, Alaska. Our concrete mix and reinforcement are designed to handle repeated freeze-thaw cycles reliably.

Do concrete games perform well in hot climates?

Yes. We have tables installed in Arizona, New Mexico, Doha, Qatar, and Dubai, as well as climates with extreme seasonal temperature swings. We have not experienced weather-related structural damage.

Do concrete games get graffitied, and how is it handled?

Concrete games can be tagged like any public surface. Our tables are sealed with a high-quality concrete sealer that creates a protective layer above the concrete. Most graffiti can be removed with warm water, mild soap, and a non-metal scrubber. After heavy cleaning, resealing restores protection and simplifies future cleanup.

INSTALLATION & HANDLING

Are concrete games difficult to install?

No. Our games are intentionally simple in design and bolt together easily. The primary consideration during installation is weight, not complexity.

How heavy are concrete game tables?

A typical concrete ping pong table weighs approximately 2,500 pounds, and a concrete foosball table weighs around 1,200 pounds. This weight provides stability, vandal resistance, and long-term durability.

What equipment is needed for installation?

Installation typically requires a forklift, tractor, or small crane, along with proper lifting straps and installers familiar with safe heavy-lifting practices. Smaller games can sometimes be installed using manpower and rolling equipment such as pallet jacks or floor dollies.

CONCRETE PING PONG TABLES

How does a ping pong ball bounce on a concrete table?

The ball bounce on our concrete ping pong tables is very consistent and meets International Table Tennis Federation bounce requirements. Because concrete is rigid and extremely smooth, the bounce is uniform across the entire playing surface.

Does concrete change how the game plays compared to wood or aluminum?

If there is a difference, it is subtle. Concrete has no flex, so the bounce can feel slightly crisper. Most players find the difference barely perceptible and adapt immediately.

Does the steel net affect play?

Yes. The 3/8-inch steel net produces a firmer rebound than a traditional textile net. Players adapt quickly, and the net becomes part of the table’s character.

Are concrete ping pong tables easy to move?

No. Concrete ping pong tables are built to stay in one place for decades or generations. They can be relocated by reversing the assembly process and using proper equipment, but they are not designed to roll or fold.

Do you make lightweight concrete ping pong tables?

No. Weight is a feature, not a drawback. Lightweight concrete would still require lifting equipment and would compromise strength and longevity, which we do not do.

What branding options are available for concrete ping pong tables?

All of our concrete ping pong tables include a custom plasma-cut steel net, powder coated in the color of your choice. Nets are commonly branded with family names, park names, business names, HOAs, or city logos. Surface stenciling is also available for select projects.

CONCRETE CORNHOLE BOARDS

Why choose concrete cornhole boards?

Wood cornhole boards do not survive year-round outdoor exposure in parks, schools, or shared spaces. Concrete cornhole boards are designed for permanent installation and long-term outdoor durability.

How much do concrete cornhole boards weigh?

Concrete cornhole boards weigh approximately 400 pounds each. They are designed to stay in place and resist movement or theft.

How does cornhole play on concrete?

Very similarly to painted wood boards. The concrete surface is extremely smooth and sealed, allowing for slides, pushes, and roll shots that feel familiar to players.

How is branding applied to concrete cornhole boards?

Branding is applied using precision-cut stencils and either acid stains or high-quality concrete paints. Single-color designs are most common, though multi-color artwork is available at additional cost due to hand application.

How durable are the graphics?

Graphics are very durable. Concrete holds paint far better than wood, even under repeated bag impact and foot traffic. Resealing every few years helps extend graphic life.

What surfaces can concrete cornhole boards be installed on?

Concrete slabs, pavers, compacted decomposed granite, synthetic turf, and rubber play surfaces all work well. We do not recommend installing directly on grass due to wear, drainage, and usability issues.

CONCRETE CHESS TABLES

What styles of concrete chess tables do you offer?

We offer freestanding chess tables, direct burial post chess tables, knight-based chess tables, and matching stools.

What is the knight-based chess table?

The knight-based table uses a sculptural concrete knight chess piece as the base. It serves as a strong visual feature, especially in chess parks or multi-table installations.

What are your concrete chess boards made of?

Our chess boards feature marble inlays set directly into the concrete. The light squares are polished concrete, and the dark squares are marble. Additional stone, petrified wood, or decorative aggregate may also be inlaid.

How is the chess surface finished?

All surfaces are diamond polished so the marble, concrete, and aggregate are flush, smooth, and comfortable for play.

Are concrete chess tables permanent?

Direct burial chess tables are permanent installations. Freestanding and knight-based tables include bolt-down hardware for public installations and can be relocated if unbolted.

CONCRETE FOOSBALL TABLES

How are concrete foosball tables constructed?

Concrete foosball tables use a one-piece concrete top with integral goals, mounted on concrete legs supported by a steel frame. The top is bolted securely to the frame after leveling.

What are the foosball rods made of?

The rods are custom-manufactured from stainless steel to ensure corrosion resistance and long-term outdoor durability.

What are the foosball players made of?

The foosball players are plastic and are considered a normal wear component. Replacement players are available, and aluminum players are optional.

Do concrete foosball tables fill up with water?

No. Each goal includes drain holes that allow rainwater to drain. Any minor surface water typically dries quickly. If debris clogs the drains, they can be easily cleared from underneath the table.

FINAL NOTE

Our concrete games are designed to be permanent, durable, and respected in public and shared spaces. They are not temporary furniture. They are built to become part of the landscape — measured in decades, not seasons.
